National Parks

The spectacular but often crowded Parque Nacional Nahuel Huapi is the cornerstone of the Lake District’s parks. Bordering it to the north, Parque Nacional Lanín gets fewer trail trampers and has equally spectacular sights, including Volcán Lanín and humbling pehuén forests. The tiny Parque Nacional Los Arrayanes is worth a day trip from Villa la Angostura to check out its beautiful cinnamon-colored arrayán trees.
