On a low cliff at the eastern end of Meads Bay, Malliouhana is one of the island’s most iconic luxury hotels, built in 1984 and reopened in 2014 following a US$80-million renovation. Starting from 720 sq ft, the stunning rooms have Italian-tile floors, marble baths, oversized black-and-white Caribbean landscape photographs, tropical watercolor murals and wraparound terraces with hammocks.
Its 25 acres of Mediterranean-style architecture and fragrant frangipani- and bougainvillea-filled gardens are within strolling distance of three white-sand beaches. Amenities include a two-tiered infinity pool, a sublime oceanfront restaurant with some of the world's hottest guest chefs, two tennis courts, an on-site spa, and yoga classes. Regular rum tastings take place at its Sunset Bar.
