Andorran cuisine takes its pointers from neighbouring Catalonia (Spain), though French influences are strong, too. Hearty dishes revolve around rich, earthy flavours and seasonal ingredients, like wild mushrooms, cargols (snails), mountain meats (including wild boar), and trout from Andorra's rivers, served grilled with ham. Impossible to miss is much-loved pa amb tomàquet (bread with tomato, garlic and oil).

Andorra la Vella has good restaurants, both firmly traditional and creatively contemporary.
