A submerged volcanic crater, Fagatele Bay is fringed by Tutuila’s last remaining stretch of coastal rainforest. Its depths house more than 140 species of coral, and are visited by numerous turtle species and migrating southern humpback whales (June to September). There are four marked trails here, two of which are less than 1km from the parking area at the bay's entrance.

The Tauese PF Sunia Ocean Center in Pago Pago has free maps detailing longer hiking routes.
