Algeria in detail

Arriving in Destination

Assuming your visa is in order, getting in and out of Algeria is normally a fast and pain-free affair. In general, there's not much of a public transport network between airports and ferry ports and city centres, but there are always plenty of taxis, and they don't tend to charge new arrivals much over the odds.

Houari Boumediene Airport (Algiers) There are frequent airport buses into town (bus number 110; DA50), but it's easier to take a private taxi (DA600 to DA800 on the street, DA1200 to DA1500 through a hotel).

Es-Sénia Airport (Oran) A taxi to the centre (20 to 30 minutes) will cost between DA1000 and DA1500.
