Hi all,

I have a last minute work trip to Zimbabwe coming up early September and managed to squeeze in three days in Victoria Falls at the end. I haven't been to Zimbabwe or Vic Falls before and am trying to figure out what would be possible.

I'd like to walk around the falls for good views, possibly visit devil's pool and possibly do a microlight flight. I fly home from Victoria Falls and from what I've read expect there to be more water on the Zimbabwe side but would like to visit the Zambia…

Hi Everyone,

I've read many things about Zimbabwe, and haven't made up my mind about my trip.

Next Oct I'll be flying into Livingstone. I intend to spend a day or 2 in Vic Falls, and then I have 7 days to cross the country into Mozambique (Chimoio). I was planning to go to Hwange NP. Is it possible to arrange from Vic Falls? We are 4, and don't have our vehicle.

After that maybe Bulamayo, not sure about Great Zimbabwe (too much road travel).

Is it easy the trip from Harare to Chimoio? Does…

Hello,

We are planning a trip to Zimbabwe for next summer. Our primary interest is in going on a safari, but we'd also like to see Victoria Falls. My question is, assuming that we don't care about activities like zip-lining, rafting, etc. and really just want to get a good look at the falls, how much time should we allot? Would it be enough to say, get there in late morning, see the falls, spend the night, and then head out the next morning?

To whom it may concern: here are my 0.02 for places to stay in Zimbabwe. Current as of Aug 2016.

MASVINGO
There is only one place in town called BACKPACKERS REST on Robertson Street. This is where dingy meets dangerous and the asking price of USD 50 is ludicrous. For a more complete and colourful description refer to my blog under Zimbabwe. The less said the better.

MUUNZE LODGE on the other hand is as charming as the couple who runs it. Situated some 20 kms out of town in the middle of a…

I will be travelling in Namibia in January and have planned out my itinerary there. At the end, I have 6 extra days before I need to fly to Capetown and am thinking of a quick visit to Zimbabwe. Given the short time available, what should I plan for? Presumably, I will have to fly into and out of Harare. How many days should I allot there? Would I be able to make quick visits to Great Zimbabwe and Victoria Falls, or should I limit myself to Great Zimbabwe? (I had been to the Zambia side of the…

Hi Everyone,

I'm keen to find out if it is possible to cross the border from Zambia to Zimbabwe at the Vic Falls on foot - just for a day visit to see the falls from the Zim side.

Hope you can help.

Thanks!
Andrew

I will be traveling idependently to Bulawayo-Masavingo (Great Zimbabwe)- Harare in a few weeks. I have not been to a country that uses dollars in a while and do not have any. My plan was, as it is everywhere, to simply withdraw $ from the ATM which is now impossible as I am told ATMs are out of money and unavailable to foreignors in any case. I am currently in South Africa with the only chance to get dollars being to withdraw rand from the atm then sell them back into dollars at an unfavorable…

Hello all!

We are planning on crossing the Sango/Chicualacuala border post in mid-july and then head to the Eastern Highlands before going to Harare and then on to Zambia.

I would love to receive some advice on the best routes and the road quality, especially from the border post to the next larger road. We have a 4x4, but the suspension isn't exactly in the best shape, so we aren't exactly happy to drive on absolutely terrible roads.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Best regards and thank…

Bulawayo
Bulawayo is the second largest city in ZW and as other cities I've seen so far in ZW it's a mix of colonial and modern. Bulawayo was our base from where we would do the Matopos but we also had a few hours sightseeing.

We stayed at Packers Paradise, it was OK but with no (working) wifi, no coffee and no hot water for…
