Jump on a minibus to one of the two modern shopping centres: Manda Hill or Arcades on Great East Rd. Arcades has a cluster of top-end restaurants, the most popular being wine-bar/restaurant Rhapsody's, a hang-out for nongovernment organisation (NGO) types and well-to-do Zambians at weekends.

    What you'd expect

    Decent food, decent service, and pretty much everything tastes like Indian food. Good location at Arcades in Lusaka. I'd go there again, even though everything is overpriced.

    Great place - just bring some cash

    Rhapsody's is one of the best places in Lusaka to get some really good food. The menu's great and it's a terrific place for veggies like myself, with some really good options, especially if you just returned from eating nsima and vegetables for weeks at a time. Just don't expect any local experiences there: it's designed for people with cash, both Zambian and international, so you'll probably see lots of NGO workers, diplomats, businesspeople etc. The atmosphere is good, too bad though that the restaurant is in a shopping mall, meaning that you have a view of the parking lot. Expect to pay K150,000 (USD 30) or more for two persons: expensive, but even budget travellers could consider going here to just splurge a bit in the 'big city'.
