Introducing Lenox

This gracious, wealthy town is a historical anomaly: its charm was not destroyed by the industrial revolution, and then, prized for its bucolic peace, the town became a summer retreat for wealthy families with surnames like Carnegie, Vanderbilt and Westinghouse, who had made their fortunes by building factories in other towns. While Lenox’s illustrious past remains tangibly present, it has thankfully developed a bit of a commercial center and is dynamic enough to actually have a grocery store.

Lenox offers two superstar attractions: the Tanglewood Music Festival, which is an incredibly popular summer event, and the Kripalu Center for yoga and spiritual reflection. Just past Tanglewood is the Stockbridge Bowl, a cerulean lake.
