Scotland is renowned for its cool and unpredictable weather, but according to the local weather station's spin, St Andrews and the Fife coast have more sunshine and less rain than the Scottish average. Undoubtedly, the Gulf Stream (a warm Atlantic current) does keep the prevailing westerly winds pleasantly mild, and average high temperatures from June to August are 16°-18°C (61°-64°F). But don't rely on the sun staying out all day - expect rain at any time.
