Stagecoach has hourly bus services to/from Edinburgh (2hr). There are also hourly buses to Glasgow (2.25hr) and regular services to Dundee (30min) and Stirling (2hr).
The nearest train station to St Andrews is Leuchars, 8km (5mi) away. It's on the coastal line and has hourly services to Edinburgh (1hr), Dundee, Aberdeen and Inverness. Buses 94, 96 and 99 connect the station with St Andrews very frequently.
Getting Around
To park in the town centre you need a voucher, which can be bought at the TIC or various shops in town. Parking police are vigilant.
There are taxis from the train station at Leuchars to the town centre with Golf City Taxis (tel: 477788). Spokes (tel: 477835; 77 South St) hires out mountain bikes and hybrids.
