Forty years old and still going strong, the Festival of Folklore is a unique celebration of Berber culture that attracts performers from all over the country during June. Held in the grounds of the impressive Palais el-Badi, every year has a different theme which is expanded upon by song and dance troupes from all over Morocco. Don't miss the famous fantasia , a charge of Berber horsemen, which takes place each sunset outside the ramparts near Bab el-Jedid.
Motorheads descend on the city in January to watch the machines in the Grand Prix de Hassan II Marathon, while September's International Film Festival attracts anyone with an interest in Arab and African cinema.
