Cancún treats every day as a holiday, but also plans a few organized events throughout the year. The biggest one is Carnaval, a joyous, usually drunken celebration held in February or March. There's a jazz festival in mid-May that attracts some big names like Wynton Marsalis. The less than athletically inclined might consider watching Cancún's World Cup Triatholon held on Playa Langosta in November.
