Djenné's climate is hot. In the summer it's infernally hot, especially early in the season as the humidity builds up prior to the rains. Global warming seems to be affecting Sahelian weather patterns quite radically, and in recent decades summer rains have often been lower than average. Winter's the best time to visit - the skies are bone dry, the nights verge on mildness and, early in the season at least, the light is clear. Late winter, northerly winds bring a dusty haze from the Sahara.
