Ohrid's summers are hot and dry. Warm winds drift up from the Aegean into the Vardar Valley. The temperatures vary widely: summer temperatures can reach 40°C (104°F), while in winter it can drop as low as -30°C (-22°F). The average annual temperature is above 10°C (50°F). The best time to enjoy Ohrid is between May and September. The busiest season is from mid-July to mid-August, when Macedonians take their holidays.
