Jerusalem's temperate climate has two distinct seasons: winter, a cold and often rainy affair, is followed by a long, hot and dry summer. Average mid-summer temperatures range between 25°C and 30°C (74° to 86°F), but low humidity makes the heat easier to bear. Winters can be severe and snow is not uncommon in the colder months; when it's not raining or snowing, the sky is often clear and sunny.
