Getting There

Buses heading south to Los Encuentros, Panajachel, Quetzaltenango, Guatemala City and all other points reached from the Interamericana highway normally arrive and depart from the corner of 5a Calle and 5a Av, one block uphill from the Arco Gucumatz. Buses heading north to Santa Cruz del Quiché stop half a block downhill on the same street. Destinations include: Antigua (3.5hr); Guatemala City (3hr); Los Encuentros (30min); Panajachel (1.5hr); Quetzaltenango (3hr); and Santa Cruz del Quiché (30min). On market days, shuttle buses arrive en masse mid-morning, bringing tourists from Panajachel, Antigua, Guatemala City and Quetzaltenango. If you want to leave Chichi, you can usually catch a ride out on one of these.

Getting Around

Chichi's center is the main plaza and from here the bus stops and most places of interest are within a few blocks, making it easy enough to get around on foot. Another good landmark coming into town from Santa Cruz del Quiché is the Arco Gucumatz on 5a Av.
