During July and August Crete gets very hot - the mercury can soar to 40°C (100°F) in the shade and the beaches are crowded. Conditions are ideal until the end of October. By November, the endless blue skies of summer have disappeared. November to February are the wettest months and snow falls on Crete's highest peaks.
