Karijini National Park: Overview

This is iron country - hard, hot and enduringly ancient.

Once known as the Hamersley, Karijini National Park is the second-largest national park in the state. Visitors to Western Australia get what they came for here: ancient, gulley-scoured landscapes, brick-red soil, bizarre wildlife, unforgiving seasons and traditional Aboriginal culture.
