The sprawling towns of Darlington and Hartlepool may not be the most dynamic, but they do have some interesting sights relating to their past glories, such as railway museums and historic quays, while Redcar is your typical, brash English seaside resort. The towns of Teesside are understated, but their proximity to the larger towns of the northeast is a bonus.
