Weather

The damp continental climate of the Czech Republic is characterised by warm, showery summers and cold, snowy winters. Brno is a couple of degrees warmer, more humid and wetter than Prague year-round.

Seasons are distinct. Summer, which lasts from June till August has average high temperatures between 22ºC (71ºF) and 24ºC (75ºF), but also has the heaviest rainfall. Winter can be bitterly cold, with average low temperatures between -2ºC (28ºF) and -4ºC (24ºF) in the city.

Spring and autumn bring changeable weather, but can be the most pleasant time to visit. May and September, for instance, have average high temperatures of 19ºC (66ºF).
