In a word: hot. Damn hot. Temperatures hover around 28°C (82°F), but frequently top 30°C (86°F) year-round. The sopping wet humidity is the real killer though. To beat the heat, do as the locals do: get out and about in the morning then take an early-afternoon siesta, saving your strength for evening activities when sea breezes cool things down. September and October bring the most rain, while December to March is the main dry season. December and January bring cool winds that make travel more pleasant.
