Coroico is warm year-round, so any time is a good time for hammock-swinging and swimming. For outdoorsy types, hiking and mountain-biking are more comfortable and much safer during the dry season (April to October). The town festival takes place on October 20, and Saturdays and Sundays are market days. Most shops and restaurants close down completely on Mondays.

Weather

At a much lower altitude than La Paz, the climate in Coroica is considerably warmer. The hot, humid and sometimes rainy conditions may induce lethargy, but most people find it more agreeable than the chilly Altiplano. Summer (November to March) storms bring mighty downpours and fog is common, especially in the afternoon when it rises from the deep valleys and swirls down streets and over rooftops. Winter rains are gentle. The average year-round temperature hovers around 18°C (65°F), but summers can reach above 30°C (86°F). The mountains of the cordilleras, however, are serious beasts and weather conditions can be extreme.
