Itinerary

Day 1: Adelaide -- Kangaroo Island (L)
After an early morning start, relax on a scenic coach ride from Adelaide to Cape Jervis on the Fleurieu Peninsula, where you’ll make the 45-minute ferry crossing to Kangaroo Island; all up, the coach and ferry trip to the island takes three hours. If you choose to fly, you'll be picked up from your Adelaide hotel and transferred to the airport for your 30-minute flight to Kangaroo Island. If time and weather permit, your first stop on Kangaroo Island is a walk on the beach, followed by a visit to Clifford’s Honey Farm to meet the beekeeper and sample the company’s honey ice cream and beauty products. After a delicious two-course lunch at Vivonne Bay Bistro, set on an expansive bush property, take a guided walk with a national park ranger on the beach at Seal Bay, home to a breeding colony of rare wild sea lions. Next stop is a birds of prey free-flight demonstration featuring Australian eagles and hawks, and pelican feeding on the beach at Kingscote, before being taken to your accommodation for your overnight stay. Accommodation: Aurora Ozone Hotel in a SeaView room
Day 2: Kangaroo Island -- Adelaide (B, L)
Following breakfast at your accommodation, begin the second day of your Kangaroo Island adventure with a visit to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery, known for its therapeutic and fragrant oils. Then feed kangaroos or have your photo taken with a koala at Parndana Wildlife Park, before enjoying more up-close encounters with Australian native animals at Hanson Bay Wildlife Sanctuary. After a tasty two-course lunch at the sanctuary, visit Flinders Chase National Park on the island’s west coast. You’ll drop into the visitor center to hear about the wildlife that lives in this pristine, protected part of the island, and take a scenic drive through the park’s glorious coastal scenery. Stroll beside Remarkable Rocks and along the Admiral’s Arch boardwalk to spy seals swimming in the waves beneath, before heading to Kingscote Airport if you’ve chosen the flight option or Penneshaw to catch the ferry back to Cape Jervis and coach transfer to Adelaide.
