Day 1 Join Cape Town
Upon arrival at Cape Town Airport, you will be transferred to your hotel for twin share accommodation for the next 5 nights. Rest of the day at leisure.
Day 2 Full day Cape Peninsula tour
Meet your guide at the Victoria & Alfred Waterfront (please check your tour voucher for pick-up time and place). We travel by a shuttle vehicle up to Signal Hill for a bird's eye view of the Atlantic Seaboard. From here we descend into Camps Bay and alongside the Twelve Apostles Mountain Range before reaching the historic Hout Bay Harbour. The spectacular Chapman's Peak mountain pass allows a superb lunch stop with the best views in town. In the afternoon, enjoy a guided hike to the old lighthouse at Cape Point which stands head and shoulders above everything else. Then we have a choice of a guided hike or bike ride from Cape Point to the Cape of Good Hope, which showcases the unsurpassed beauty of the southern tip of Africa. We may be lucky enough to spot zebra, eland, baboons and ostriches, a few of the species in the protected reserve. Return to Cape Town along the eastern side of the peninsula visiting the African Penguin colony at Boulders Beach for a close-up view of the Jackass penguin en route. Overnight: Cape Town.
Day 3 Full day visiting the Cape winelands
After a trip briefing and introduction, travel by shuttle vehicle (approx 45 mins) to Paarl in the heart of the Cape Winelands region. Home to the mighty Paarl Rock, the second largest granite outcrop in the world, and the Taal Monument, a tribute to the Afrikaans language, Paarl is a historic town resplendent with natural wonders and some superb wine estates. We set off on our custom-made mountain bikes, past a number of charming cafes and quaint guesthouses with the vineyards rolling down the slopes to greet us. We make our way off the tarred road and onto Jan Phillips Mountain Drive, which leads us into the pristine Paarl Mountain and Nature Reserve, with the jagged peaks of the Paardeberg mountains glistening in the distance. Cycling through this shaded sanctuary, we make our way towards the mighty Paarl Rock. We climb up the hill and are rewarded with magnificent views of the valley below. Afterward, we ease our way downhill and into a Cheese and Wine Estate where we sample their selection of cheeses and award winning wines. Continue along a tractor trail, meandering through lush vineyards with wonderful views - Table Mountain is visible on a clear day. This wonderful trail connects a couple of wine estates. We try some of their best wines while enjoying a gourmet lunch. Our cycling ends at Seidelberg Wine Estate, and we are shuttled back to Cape Town in the late afternoon.
Day 4 Climb Table Mountain
Make your own way to the starting point for the Table Mountain hike (transport leaves from central Cape Town). All hikers are then transported to the start of the trail. Together with our guides, we set out on a thrilling ascent to Table Mountains' highest point. A spectacular guided walk up Platteklip Gorge to Maclear's Beacon, the highest point of Table Mountain. You will be rewarded with unrivalled views of the Cape Peninsula and beyond. Once you have reached the top of Table Point, you can walk around the plateau admiring the views in all directions. Descent from Table Mountain with the cable car (own expense), and make your own way back to the hotel. At own expense and risk: there is also an exhilarating, optional adventure - Table Mountain Abseil. Step off the top, at 1000 metres above sea level, and rappel into pure vertical space. This is the world's original highest commercial abseil. You are surrounded by awesome views and the deep blue Atlantic Ocean at your feet. A thrilling experience of adrenaline and achievement: a 112 metre controlled descent off Cape Town's magnificent Table Mountain.
Day 5 Free day in Cape Town
A day at leisure in Cape Town. We recommend taking either an optional one-day "Hop On Hop Off" sightseeing tour, or visiting Robben Island and Kirstenbosch Gardens, or exploring the Waterfront area; plus enjoying the vibrant restaurants, beaches, nightlife, shopping, etc.
Day 6 Trip concludes
After breakfast you will be transferred to the airport for your onward flight/s. If you are staying on in Cape Town, tour arrangements end after breakfast.
