A warmly lit basement with country-kitchen pine furniture and green-and-white check tablecloths, decorated with bric-a-brac and old street signs, Bizzie's has a half-vegetarian, half-carnivore menu - whichever you are, go for the delicious nut roast with chilli and tomato sauce.

    We have been eating out in Swansea for the best part of 20 years now and this is, without doubt, the worst meal we have eaten. Three of us ate here. Our starters were king prawns in garlic butter, and 2 of the alleged homemade pate. The prawns were raw in the centre and had to be returned and in the end the order was changed to garlic mushrooms which, at least, were cooked. The pate was mediocre at best and served with stale bread rather than the melba toast that the menu promised. Main courses were hake, welsh black beef and lamb shank. The fish was obviously frozen and then overcooked. The lamb shank was tasteless and the sirloin steak was, beyond a shadow of doubt, NOT welsh black beef. The sauces were watery, the vegetables raw and overall a dire disappointment. With the average starter priced at £6 and main courses averaging £15, this was overpriced to the nth degree. It looks likes a bistro but eats like motorway service station.
