Local bus services link Wrexham with Chester, such as bus 1 (40 minutes, every 10 minutes, hourly on Sunday) and the 555, X5 and X94 with Llangollen (30 minutes, every 15 minutes, fewer on Sunday).

Wrexham is on the Chester-Birmingham train line, with services from Chester (15 minutes, about hourly) and Birmingham (£17, 1½ hours, hourly).
