Academy
An incongruous setting for a booze palace, perhaps, but an incredibly beautiful one. This former chapel has Victorian tiles on the floor, a mezzanine supported by slender cast-iron columns, red lights illuminating a wooden staircase leading to an eagle-fronted pulpit and organ pipes behind the bar. The whole effect is upmarket, sophisticated and, well, heavenly.
