    A solidly traditional pub with armchairs, a fireplace and lip-smacking Brains Dark real ale on tap, the Goat Major's gastronomic contribution comes in the form of its selection of homemade pies. Its Wye Valley pie (a mixture of buttered chicken, leek, asparagus and Tintern Abbey cheese) was named Britain's best in 2010.
