Médecins du Monde is an international humanitarian organisation that sends medical and non-medical volunteers abroad to provide healthcare to vulnerable populations around the world.
MdM requires a medical volunteer to sign on for a three-month commitment. Non-medical volunteers need to enlist for six months.
50 countries worldwide.
Transportation, food, housing and insurance is covered by the organisation. In addition, all staff receive approximately £200 per month as a local allowance and a monthly compensation of between £400 and £600, deposited into their bank account at home.
Volunteers need to have at least two years of professional experience. Aside from on their projects in London, MdM does not accept medical students.
