Hands Up Holidays was created to allow tourists to enjoy meaningful interaction with different cultures and to give something back through a volunteering 'taster'.

Timing & Length of Placements

The typical trip length is 14-15 days, although trips range from seven to 22 days. There is typically one departure per month for each trip. Tailor-made trips can also be arranged for any departure date and length of trip.

Argentina, Borneo, Brazil, Cambodia, China, Ecuador, Fiji, Guatemala, India, Indonesia, Laos, Mexico, Morocco, Peru, Romania, South Africa, Thailand, Tibet, Turkey, Uganda, Ukraine, Vanuatu, Vietnam, and coming soon: Australia, New Zealand, Libya, Serbia and Rwanda.

Costs

Packages (excluding flights) range in cost from £500 (US$950/A$1200) for eight days in Northern Vietnam with a teaching English component and three-star accommodation, to £3800 (US$7200/A$9400) for a 13-day luxury trip in Argentina with a repairs and renovations component. All the costs of materials used in the development projects are included in the trip price.

Eligibility

Certain trips are suitable for children travelling with a parent or guardian or for volunteers with a disability.
