Volunteer - A Traveller's Guide to Making A difference Around the World

Global Adventures Project

www.globaladventures.co.uk

With placements open to British and American students, Global Adventures Project (a division of American Institute for Foreign Study) offers a kind of volunteering smorgasbord, allowing participants to mix and match placement options around the world using a 12-month round-the-world (RTW) ticket to bounce between them.

Timing & Length of Placements

Placements last between three and twelve months and participants choose between two to four placements. Departures are in January, June and September. Applications should be sent three to 12 months in advance.

Destinations

Brazil, India, Peru, USA, Canada, China, Borneo, Australia, New Zealand, Central America and South Africa.

Costs

Programme fees start from £3195 and include a minimum of two placements and a round-the-world ticket. Accommodation and food are included except on placements in South Africa where only accommodation is included. Other costs, including travel insurance, are extra.

Eligibility

Applicants must be 18, speak fluent English and have a UK or US passport.
