Vietnam - China border…
I am visiting Vietnam for the first time in late July and was hoping I could get some up to date advice from people that have been there recently! I will be leaving Ho Chi Minh to cross the border into Cambodia to travel to Phnom Penh, and I was planning on buying a moped in Ho Chi Minh and doing the journey on bike, then exploring the rest of Cambodia before selling it on.
I understand the risks of ridding mopeds over there, but what i really want to know is this a realistic plan, ie are…
I noticed this phrase in the Hoi An section of the Travel Fish website.
"The helmet law is taken very seriously. Always wear one — and one that fits. Try to get a helmet with a hologram sticker. Without it, it will be smashed at the side of the road and you’ll have to buy a new one and be fined whatever the police feel they can get from you".
Whats this hologram sticker they're talking about? Is it something specific to Hoi An or elsewhere as well?
Its been 5 years since I've been in Vietnam…
Is it worthwhile visiting both the Mai Chau valley and Sapa? We were thinking of visiting both from Hanoi for about 3 days each, in September. Thanks for your suggestions and advice.
I will be free 4 days when visting Hanoi for business. Want to find somewhere near Hanoi for relaxing in these days off. I've searched through Internet and found out that Hanoi-Halong-Sapa and Hanoi-Mai Chau-Halong itinerary are often choosen. Which one is better for relaxing in 4 days? I can skip Hanoi because I am going to take time to visit there before having days off. I travel with group of 3 people, intend to come in the ending of July. Open for all suggesstions. Thanks a lot.
Hey guys, Im going to take off from Da Nang and cross the border to Laos with my bike next week. I'm looking for itinerary and route advices and travel buddies! The date can be flexible so drop me a message on Whatsapp anytime! My number is +601112517418.
Can anyone give be an idea of how much I should expect to pay for the overnight train (hard and soft sleeper) and for the new express bus. Do the prices vary much between weekends and week days?
Also, what are the best train booking websites for Vietnam? (I have seen this mentioned on the forum recently, but can't seem to find it). Thanks.
My train will arrive to Gui Lam station at 4:50 in the morning (from China).
I read it somewhere, there is a train from Hanoi railway station leaving at early morning (around 6:00) and arriving to Haiphong at 8:30. It will arrive next to the Ferry station where I could cross to Cat Ba Island in about 30 minutes by Hydrofoil.
However, I do not know where to buy the tickets in advance. Could somebody help me out.
Vietnam’s government has extended a visa waiver program benefiting citizens of five European countries, just before the existing policy expires at the end of this month.
This is the second one-year extension Vietnam has given to the visa-free policy applicable to German, French, British, Italian, and Spanish visitors since its introduction in 2015.
Under the extended program, people arriving in Vietnam from these five countries won’t have to apply for a visa for travel between July 1, 2017 and…
