I was recently on an internal (Haiphong to Danang) flight on Vietnam Airways, and they did not care about the water that I was taking on. (I explicitly asked.) In a couple of days I have an international flight (Hanoi to Bangkok) with the same airlines, and was wondering whether they will let me take my filled water bottle on that flight. Anyone know?
Sorry, another question as I try to plan the Vietnamese leg of my travels with my family....
From Hanoi, we are going to go to Cat Ba, and explore there, and do some kayaking around Lan Ha.
Then I planned to go to Tam Coc for a couple of days, and from there down to Phong Nha NP, also for a couple of days. I'm thinking we might not have time for both of these places (or at least that it would be best to stay longer in one place than to always be moving, since we will be travelling with kids). Any…
I wish to travel from Cat Ba to Tam Coc, without going back to Hanoi. I know its possible to do this DIY, but we are travelling with children and I wonder if there are tour companies who will arrange it if we book in advance, or if I could hire a driver from Haiphong? Any suggestions welcome....
Trying to get my head around an itinerary for Vietnam. Probably have a couple of weeks, but can be a bit flexible as its part of a 7 month trip that I'm just putting together. Will be travelling with children aged 7 and 8.
So far I'm thinking.....
- We'll arrive in Hanoi from Laos. Spend 2 days in Hanoi just wandering around, seeing a water puppet show, and generally catching our breath.
- Travel to Cat Ba (bus/boat arranged by Vietnam Insider Travel. Spend 2 full days in Cat Ba. One day boat…
Myself and my relatives are planning a multi generation holiday to Vietnam next Easter. In total there will be 13 of us (1 family of 5, 1 family of 4, Grandma & Grandpa and a couple).
I have no idea where to start so was wondering if anyone has any tips on where would be a good place for a 10 day trip. As there are so many of us we want to limit moving around as much as possible, so a beach resort or a hotel near lots of activities would be fantastic!
Thanks so much.
I want to run an itinerary by all of you to see what you think. Little bit of background. I was originally going to visit Myanmar during this time period but chose to postpone that trip since I wanted a few more days there in order to go to Inle Lake, so next year it is. Also, I'm a photographer, so a lot of my itinerary is sometimes based on where is good to shoot. I'll be traveling with someone else and we both travel pretty quickly, we don't usually hang around for very long, we try…
My friend and I will be arriving in Vietnam in mid May via Japan around 10PM. We are Canadians and would have to apply for a visa.
I read some reviews that it may be a hassle to enter via visa on arrival (VOA). Would anyone have any on-hand experience with using the VOA? Is it difficult to enter with it, if we do not speak the language? Is it too late in the evening to arrive and expect to receive the VOA?
Your input would be very helpful and appreciated!
