Others have come and gone, but ‘Apo’ has been around since the early days and remains one of the must-see clubs. A sprawling place with a big dance floor and an outdoor courtyard for cooling off, it’s quite a circus, with travellers, expats, Vietnamese movers and shakers, plus the odd hooker (some odder than others). The music is thumping and it’s apocalyptically rowdy.

    Go once to say you did. And then don't go back.

    For some reason my friends insist on returning, so I pay a weekly visit to this joint for about an hour a weekend. It's always the same: incredibly diverse crowd (and I'm not saying that's a good thing), more prostitutes than you can shake a stick at, and rarely is there enough space on the floor to even *move*, let alone dance. I've never paid for drinks there, so I can't speak for the prices.

    All that said, it's not abhorrent. Go and check it out, it's worth popping in for a a few minutes so you can judge for yourself. Just don't get your expectations too high first.

    Full of prostitutes and businessmen dancing in suits
