Lonely Planet review for Pho Gia Truyen

The perfect broth for pho (rice-noodle soup) should look as though it was ladled from the river. It's opaque and brownish after beef bones have boiled in it for hours. Some places try to take the mystery out of pho by serving weak, see-through broths, but here you get the good stuff. Once you've experienced it you'll understand why some can't start their day without a bowl.

    Simply delicious but do not expect service. Pay vnd 40, 000

    Pay and order first, collect your bowl when ready. Not the cleanist looking joint but I am ok so figure the hot broth is safe.

    This is one of the best Pho Bo (Beef Pho) in Hanoi. Evening. Self service. Expensive. Worth the money. When I go to Hanoi, this is the pho that I have to visit every time. Beside this restaurant, there is Pho Bo Xao. It is superb also.
