Lonely Planet review

An efficient, perennially popular hostel now occupying two buildings on a quiet lane. It’s impressively organised, with custom-built bunk beds and lockers, and the dorms all have en-suite bathrooms. You’ll also find a rooftop terrace for barbecues and a bar downstairs. A recent Hanoi Backpackers offshoot on P Ma May is even more impressive.

Description

The Hanoi Backpackers' Hostel now has a 2 great locations!

The Original down a quiet lane just 100 meters from the front steps St Joseph's Cathedral in the center of town. And a brand spanking new one on Ma May street in the centre of the Old Quarter, the Hanoi Backpackers' Hostel on Ma May.

Offering both dorm and private rooms; our price includes breakfast, internet, all day tea & coffee, linen and friendly advice.

We organize our own tours to Ha Long Bay for guest booking only through the hostel only. And it is the only tour that stays on a private island in the Cat Ba National Park where you can choose to wake board, waterski, banana boat or rock climb as an activity included in the tour.

Because we enjoy a good crac as much as the next guy, there are BBQ's every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 5pm on the Roof Top terrace as well as a Sunday Session from 3pm. Our nightly Happy Hour starts at 5 o'clock on the ROOF TOP BAR.

For those of you arriving via Hanoi International Airport we highly recommend organizing an airport pick up. No, it is not free but you will avoid the hassles of being taken to another hotel which will tell you that the hostel is full/closed down/or was knocked down by an act of God.

We look forward to meeting you and remember Happy Hour starts at FIVE.
