The bar downstairs is where US war veterans hold forth about ongoing American politics vis-à-vis the American War in Vietnam. These days they’re joined by Western expats in search of an ice-cold beer or the comfort food available in the restaurant upstairs.

    Surprisingly good burgers!

    My partner and I dropped into Christie's Cool Spot for lunch and were welcomed warmly by the staff. Other foreigners were having lunch, too, which was an encouraging vibe. We both ordered cheeseburgers and fries, and didn't have to wait too long to get them. The burger was really fresh and hot and extremely tasty! Authentic burgers have been hard to find in Vietnam (we've been here for 4 months!). Regular drinks and food are decently priced, but alcohol is a bit pricey in comparison to other places we've been to. Cocktails averaged at 60,000VND ($3USD) - but most bars/restaurants we've been to have averaged at 35,000VND ($1.75USD). All in all, a pleasant experience and happy to recommend!
