I've just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City and think I have a urinary tract infection. I went to a pharmacy and they sold me antibiotics over the counter without a prescription is this normal practice am I safe to take these meds. I told the pharmacist I'm allergic to penicillin and she assured me the tablets weren't penicillin. Thanks for any advice
We are staying at the Novotel Saigon in Ho Chi Minh city we have just arrived and rather overwhelmed we desperately need wShing done. Hotel prices for laundry are expensive does anyone know of anywhere close by it can be done. We have walked around the nearby streets but can't understand the signs and didn't see anything. Thank you
Has anybody flown with Hong Kong Express airline from Danang to Hong Kong? or from/to elsewhere? They have a very affordable one-way ticket to Hong Kong and was wondering if they are reliable and safe.
Or are there any other airlines flying from Danang to HK?
Anyone applied lately and gotten the "letter" claiming this is true? I find it hard to imagine they'd abolish the 1 month visa, as many tourists would balk at a 1 year $135 visa. So I'm thinking this is not really happening. Data points?
We are planning to visit Vietnam in February 2017 and definitely want to visit Halong Bay. However, I have read there is an average of two hours of sunshine a day at this time of year. We want to go exploring on kayaks around the islands but just want to get an idea of the temperatures if there is no sunshine for most of the day. Is it cold and miserable? I know this is a very general question but I'm just trying to work out if we should spend a few days in the area and stay at Cat Ba or…
Hi everyone, I know there are a lot of posts re: Visas but most of them seem to be quite old and outdated. My bf and I are heading to Vietnam in December this year and I'm currently trying to find the best way to do this. We are both Canadian born and both have dual citizenship (UK/Canada). From what I'm reading, UK citizens are visa exempt if they are in Vietnam less than 15 days.
Have any UK citizens been to Vietnam lately and can verify this? If not, do any Canadians have any advice? I've…
I'm planning to visit Vietnam in April next year. After visiting Hanoi and Halong Bay, I'd like to visit Hue and Hoi An. My question is shall I fly directly to Hue and then get somebody to drive me from Hue to go to my hotel at Hoi An or is it better to fly to Danang and go from there to Hue and back and then get my hotel in Hoi An to pick me up at Danang Airport?
Sometimes airlines cancel flights if they don't have enough passengers so I was wondering if that is the case in Vietnam, would…
next week I am flying from Hong Kong to Nha Trang with Vietnam Airlines via Saigon, where I shall have a 6 hours layover (from 09:30 to 15:20), so I was thinking of exiting the airport and take a quick tour into town.
Do you think it is a feasible and sound idea ?
I ask this because in the visa application I have to specify the entry airport: hence, if I can get out of the airport my point of entry will be Saigon, otherwise it shall be Nha Trang.
Thank you for you help and advice.
Do not go and don't use the local ferry!
We are a family of four traveling for a year. We decided that we would take the local ferry ( slow) not tourist speed boat to the island. We had organized a homestay for two nights as well with a local non-for-profit.
When we showed up at the dock at 6:30 am the ferry driver told us it would be 150,000 per person to take the ferry one way. We had done our research and we were told the ferry was 10,000. We told the driver we would not pay that since it is…
