Sometimes spelt Milan, it lacks the style of its namesake, but the rooms are good value. Some are so white as to be on the clinical side, while others are roomy with bright windows.
The ‘pink place’, this is the cheapest pad in town. It seems to have been designed back-to-front with air-con rooms at the back and cheaper fan rooms at the front with sea views.
This old trade-union-run hotel has spacious rooms set amid extensive gardens. The old fan rooms are making way for an upgraded new wing during 2009. There’s also a beachfront restaurant.
The smartest place in Hon Chong by some stretch, Hontrem is draped over a hillock towards the end of the main strip. The hexagonal bungalows are attractively set overlooking the sea and include a large bed with light linen and generous baths.
Set in an imposing villa on the northern headland of Duong Beach, this is a friendly, family-run place with a range of spacious rooms.
