Lonely Planet review
Positioned away from the plaza on a quiet street, the climate-cooled Altamira is a good, clean and basic choice for thrifty travelers who want relative safety. Front-facing rooms have a small balcony, which may not have picture-perfect views but which do give an interesting angle on the city, looking over a small, haphazardly built barrio (shantytown) to the skyscrapers and mountain beyond.
Our independent authors have visited Hotel Altamira and selected this as one of our recommended hotels in Caracas.
