    This Georgetown institution has been a friend to street punks and wannabes for decades. (Thirty-somethings remember it fondly as the stop for black lipstick and handcuffs on the way to Georgetown's Friday night showing of The Rocky Horror Picture Show at the now-defunct Key Theatre). It now sells funky makeup, all colors of hair dye, Goth-wear, and baggy clothes from such brands as Moschino and Hook-Ups.

    This vintage clothier appeals to both boy and girl denizens of the New U club district with its 1950s and '60s swinger-style clothes: puffy skirts for dancing, suede-lapelled blazers and such accessories as funky hats and beaded purses.     The Tricera Shop is entirely devoted to dinosaur merchandise (now that's specialized). The glittering Gem Store - outside the Geology Hall - has a huge selection of fine and costume jewelry, including beautiful amber samples which are millions of years old. The newest Mammals Museum Store, designed to represent four continents (Asia, Australia, North & South America), carries toys, crafts, posters and books focusing on mammals and evolution.
