Lonely Planet review for Pho 75
For a no frills dining experiment offering only pho (a beef noodle soup), this place is amazingly successful. Hordes of tourists, locals and Vietnamese pack communal tables each slurping their own unique variation of the soup - some add brisket or tripe, meatballs or flank steaks; others douse it with lime, hot sauce and Asian basil. Whichever you choose, odds are it will be delicious.
The name means soup, but this local chain is so much more than a beef noodle soup shop. For a cultural experience visit on a Sunday, when fathers teach their first generation American daughters how to slurp slippery white noodles simmering in richly flavorful broth.

Winner: Best Value in DC (WP) for 25+ Years In a Row
brevin recommends this,
If you can find a parking spot and can ignore the hospital cafeteria feel to the inside, your mouth and your pocketbook will really thank you for a trip to Pho 75. There is excellent pho (I have tried most and found that #9 is my favorite), as well as exotic (but tasty) desserts including one made of corn.
If you are new to pho consider getting the chicken noodle soup, and steer clear of anything with "tripe" in it, and unless you are really passionate about plum drinks I would skip the salty plum, it is more salt than plum. And, by no means should you EVER go there near closing. 30 minutes prior to locking up, they start cleaning, and the bleach smell is overpowering. Also, they only take cash, but despite these draw-backs, remember: the food is delicious and extremely cheap, and there is a reason that they have won the best value award for 25+ years in a row - this is the best value in the Rosslyn and Courthouse neighborhoods, between which this Vietnamese gem is situated.
