Lonely Planet review for Bangkok Bistro
Don’t expect a cute little hole-in-the-wall plucked straight outta Thailand; Bangkok Bistro is big and brash and usually packed. To be honest, it’s not so much Thai as Thai-American, influenced by Asia but distinctly Yankee in its huge, arm-waving ‘look-at-me’ approach, modern decor, slick waitstaff and somewhat watered-down Thai. But it’s also popular as hell, so they’re doing something right. We always like the drunken noodles and curry mains, plus the inevitable people parade that marches by.

Best Thai in DC
leowens recommends this,
Bangkok Bistro is the best destination for Thai food in the District for two reasons. First, their food is full of flavor and powerful. Dishes can be made less spicy if requested, but, closer to authenticity, many of the dishes are quite spicy without losing the other flavors. The other great reason to eat at BB is because their service is very good, especially for a restaurant in that price range. Drinks are always taken care of and the food is prepared very rapidly - never much of a wait, if any.
Recommended dishes: drunken noodle, panang curry, garden rolls.
