Lonely Planet review

The DC area takes its Peruvian chicken seriously. If you haven’t had the stuff, it’s slow-roasted, rotisserie style, and is it good: succulent, juicy, the savory skin complementing the comforting pillows of meat. Most of the best Peruvian chicken (pollo a la brasa) in the area is actually outside of the city in the Maryland and Virginia ‘burbs, but Chix is about as good as it gets in the District itself. Plus, Chix is green and good: it was built with sustainable materials and the cups are made out of fast-degrading corn. Vegetarian dishes – mostly sides such as black beans and seasonal greens – are available, too.
