Get your coffee straight up in the morning, and with a few shots of booze in the evening at this friendly café where the mood is all about mellow lingering. Fresh salads and ciabatta sandwiches keep your stomach happy as you toil away on your laptop or devour the morning's Washington Post. After 16:00 the place serves liquor - choose from alcoholic coffee cocktails and a range of wine, spirits and beer. There are numerous locations around the city.

The food is OK, the service is fine and the atmosphere just like a Starbucks. In fact, it's barely a step up from your typical chain cafe. You could do a lot worse - at least it's clean and consistent - but if you're looking for excitement, look elsewhere.

Fast and convenient
holud recommends this,
I liked the wide variety of sandwiches, wraps, and salad available and the fact that menu items can be easily modified. There are meat as well as vegetarian options. I went to a Cosi when going to the DC passport office to pick up my passport. The order is done immediately while you wait in line.
