Lonely Planet review

It's been around for more than a few years now, but Mie N Yu shows no signs of losing its coolness. Featuring an eclectic menu and exotic decor, it's the coolest lounge-restaurant in Georgetown. The seven different rooms represent the world's exotic wonders - from the suspended birdcage room in the back to the opium-den colonial Silk Rd bar.

Depending where you are seated, you might dine in a Bedouin camp or in the sultan's harem, but rest assured colorful pillows will surround you and you'll be waited on hand and foot - although you'll pay through the nose for all this coolness, cocktails and even house wines average around US$14 ! The menu is nouveau Asian with lots of salads and other non-fatty dishes. Don't leave without checking out the fancy, unisex toilet in the basement. Reservations recommended.
