George was the first DC hotel to take the term ‘boutique’ to a daring, ultramodern level. The stylish interior is framed by clean lines, chrome-and-glass furniture and modern art, with rooms that exude a cool, creamy-white Zen. The pop-art presidential accents (paintings of American currency, artfully rearranged and diced up) are a little overdone, but that’s a minor complaint about what is otherwise the hippest lodging on the Hill. The free-vino happy hour each evening and free in-room yoga gear ice the cake (thanks, Kimpton hotel family).
