Catering to the city's young and poor, this rambling three-story dive-like place runs its happy hour from to weekdays and has a rotating list of specials - half price burgers on Wednesdays, 25ยข wings on Tuesdays - along with around US$3 pints and around US$4 well drinks.

The crowd is a soup of bike messengers, restaurant servers and K St lawyers. A DJ spins a mix of hip-hop house and Britpop on weekends, when Lucky gets really packed. It's popular during the day with soccer fans who watch English, Spanish and American league games on the giant projection screen.
