Virginia Beach Sights

  1. Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge

Back Bay National Wildlife Refuge is an 8000-acre wildlife and migratory bird marshland habitat, most stunning during the December migration season when the snow and Canada geese arrive in their thousands. This refuge features both swampy marshland and barrier beach environments that are also home to turtles, otters and deer as well as shorebirds and raptors.

  2. Ocean Breeze Waterpark

Kids will go nuts at the Ocean Breeze Waterpark. It has 16 long, brightly coloured waterslides, all called things like 'Grape Escape', 'Toucan Tunnel' and 'Bahama Mamma'. Some rides are slower and more gentle, others promise 'shut-your-eyes excitement'. If the kids haven't had enough there's also a '1 million-gallon' wave pool.

  3. Virginia Marine Science Museum

The Virginia Marine Science Museum is one of the top 10 most visited aquariums in the US. It describes itself, perhaps over-ambitiously, as an 'educational adventure', but it does have more than 300 hands-on exhibits, an otter habitat and an aviary as well a huge tank full sharks, rays and other big boys of the deep.
