2 Star Hotel
The Jefferson is Richmond's grandest hotel and one of the finest in America. The vision of tobacco tycoon and Confederate Major Lewis Ginter, the beaux-arts-style hotel was completed in 1895.
This is the cheapest in-city option and its location for exploring can't be beat. That said, you get what you pay for. The rooms are tiny but clean but the hotel is in serious need of renovation.
The gracious hostess of this B&B is the epitome of Southern class and hospitality, and the three gorgeous rooms she rents are a lovely example of Southern baroque style.
